Setting Up Multiple Screenreaders

I'm interested in trying a few different screenreaders. The thing is that I've already got VocalEyes set to start whenever the system starts. I'm assuming I'd just need to edit the autoexec.bat file so it doesn't do this and likewise, to instruct the other readers not to start automatically. But then how do I start VocalEyes? Do I have to go into the speech directory and type talk or can I just type talk at the C prompt? Also, is there a way to unload VocalEyes during a given session, i.e. to exit from the program or do I need to restart the machine to use another reader?

please give details of oS. thanks. under windows, just install the screen readers one by one, let them start up as they want, then give them short cut keys, if not already assigned, then tell them, no start up when windows starts. i have jaws and system access on here.

I thought autoexec.bat and VocalEyes would give it away at least partly. This machine's running MS-DOS 6.21. I figured I'd experiment before my ultimate switch to Enhanced DR-Dos. I want to get a feel for the various screenreaders so I can see, assuming they all work with the new os, which one is the best for me.
